Producer: J. Moreau & Fils, Chablis
Between Dijon and Paris, on the banks of the Serein river, a tributary of the Seine, lies the enchanting wine region of Chablis, classified as part of Burgundy. The Chardonnay vine thrives exceptionally on the strongly calcareous soils. The success story of J. Moreau & Fils began as far back as 1814. Today, the winery is one of the oldest in the region. The young cooper J. Moreau settled in Chablis and married the daughter of a local wine grower. From a pioneer in the Chablis region, the house has become one of the most important Chablis producers over the years. Its know-how is as highly regarded as the style of its wines, which are resolutely terroir-driven. What Jean-Joseph Moreau began more than 200 years ago with passion and dedication to winemaking is today in the hands of winemaker Lucie Depuydt. Born in Chablis itself, she has the instinct to bring out the best from every grape. J. Moreau & Fils has been part of the Boisset family since 1985.
