Producer: Château La Bonnelle, Saint-Pey-d'Armens
Château La Bonnelle is located in Saint-Pey-d'Armens in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. Built in the 19th century, the château is surrounded by 13 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are planted mainly with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, and some of the vines are more than 40 years old. The soils are characterised by clay, gravel and iron-rich sandy components. Hand harvesting, careful sorting and ageing in French oak barriques are integral to the estate’s approach. Oenologist Olivier Sulzer also shapes the style of the wine: fruit-driven, structured and balanced, with fine tannins and good length.
